Multi-factor authentication is an electronic authentication method in which a user is granted access to the application after successfully presenting two pieces of evidence to the authentication mechanism. MFA protects your data from being accessed by an unauthorised third party that may have been able to discover your password.
The MFA mechanism can be activated on a per-user basis or forced for all users. Information about the activation procedure can be found in this article.
When the MFA mechanism is activated, the user will need to provide its credentials in the login form.
After pressing the login button, an MFA code will be sent to the user’s email address, which will be requested on the login page. The MFA code will remain valid for 5 minutes.
By default, an e-mail based MFA mechanism is available. An authenticator based mechanism is available upon request.
